Europe
In Europe, SHL's whollyowned subsidiary, provides advanced Telemedicine services in selected markets such as Germany.
SHL, is a leader in the field of Telemedicine in Germany and has partnered with German Healthcare Insurance Sick Funds ("Krankenkasse") and other medical institutions to provide telemedicine services to their members. Collaborating with German researchers has yielded study results that clearly illustrate that Telemedicine services, while greatly improving the quality of life and quality of care of patients with chronic cardiac conditions, reduce the overall cost of patient healthcare. SHL has launched a program in Germany, specifically designed to support patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). SHL’s German medical monitoring center and the head offices, are located in Düsseldorf.
North America
In North America, Raytel Cardiac Services, previously a fully-owned subsidiary of SHL, was acquired and merged with Philips Medical at the end of 2007, and has been renamed Philips Remote Cardiac Services. Philips Medical exclusively distributes SHL’s Telemedicine product line in North America. Philips Remote Cardiac Services is considered a leading provider of remote monitoring services and other cardiac diagnostic services utilizing trans-telephonic and other Telemedicine monitoring technologies. As part of the acquisition of Raytel, SHL exclusively licensed the trademarks: RAYTEL™; CARDIOCARE™; and INR@HOME™ to Philips Remote Cardiac Services for use in North America.
